European Patents

Grant Procedure and related work:

  • Filing of European patent applications (with or without claiming priority of an earlier national application).
  • Filing Euro-PCT applications.
  • Filing divisional applications.
  • Monitoring and payment of annuity fees.
  • Conducting the procedure up to grant of European patent applications.
  • Registering transfers of rights of European patent applications.
  • Registering changes of applicant’s name and/or address.
  • Registering licenses and other rights.
  • Assist in validation of a European patent in all European countries.
  • (in case of a rejection) Filing an appeal and conducting the appeal procedure, also if Patentwerk did not conduct the earlier procedure.

Observations and Oppositions:

  • Submitting third party observations (in the name of Patentwerk or anonymous) for pending applications.
  • Drawing up and filing oppositions against patents granted to third parties. Upon request with a prior art search up front, in the name of a client, or with Patentwerk acting as a straw man.
  • Conducting written opposition rounds and oral proceedings (both defensive and offensive).
  • (in case of a rejection) Filing an appeal and conducting the appeal procedure, also if Patentwerk did not conduct the earlier procedure.

International (PCT) applications

Patentwerk provides full service concerning PCT applications. We can file applications both at the European Patent Office and at the International Bureau of WIPO. Our attorneys are qualified to act before the European Patent Office, both in writing and in oral proceedings.
